Member of Parliament for Motete Constituency Tumaole Lehasa has spat on Butha-Buthe police for unreasonably killing a widower Poshoane Moloi, therefore turning his only son into an orphan.

This he said during the deceased’s memorial service organised by Transformation Resource Centre at his home at Kao on Thursday January 17.

He wondered if the government was prepared to take care of all the orphans resulting from the police brutality nation-wide.

Lehasa and the villagers believed that Moloi was targeted for murder when police on December 27, stormed the village and beat men.

Villagers also believed the attack was sparked by a conflict that erupted few days prior the attack, that was between a police officer and a civilian who both allegedly fought over a woman of the same village where the officer is stationed.

The family said it was shocked that the police up to date have not yet visited them to formally report on the murder and neither attended the memorial service .

Moloi will be laid to rest this coming Saturday January 19.
