MASERU – Moeketsi Shale, a highly vocal young politician on Lesotho’s national affairs, has been elected the new leader of the main opposition Democratic Congress (DC) during a youth conference held over the weekend in Maseru.
The newly elected president, Shale, has already declared his vision for his term in office, “together with other members of the youth league, to strive towards strengthening unity among the party followers particularly the youth.”
Shale stated that if there was no unity and love within the party, it would not be possible for the league to work towards development of youth hence the need to first start by striving for unity.
He said as the DC youth they would liaise with other institutions in Lesotho to discuss issues affecting young people with the aim of addressing challenges facing the youth in Lesotho such as unemployment. He said this could be realised through constructive politics, good governance, leadership and in partnership with the business, among others.
