Liphakoe cooperative adds more members

In an effort to improve summer cropping, Kopanang Liphakoe Cooperative (KLC) accepted six more members thus increasing the number of hectares as compared to the last cropping season.
This was said by the Chairperson of KCL, Mrs. ‘Mamotseki Mahloko on Monday.
Mrs. Mahloko explained that the hectares have increased from seven to 49.7 as the new members have borrowed their fields to the cooperative like others do.
She said: “For this summer cropping, we are going to harvest more crops which will help generate more revenue, and after selling we will be able to give to orphans and vulnerable children; thus, fulfilling our mandate.”
She highlighted that the three new members have been offered training while the other three are yet to be trained.
Mrs. Mahloko said they have planted only maize and the KLC members hope to plant beans and sorghum next year during summer cropping.
KLC is found in Ha Keenya, Leribe and it has about 10 members.
