Women in sport leadership equipped with skills

The Women in Sports Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretary General is participating at the three-day workshop held in Zambia ending on Sunday.
This was revealed by the Lesotho Netball Association (LNA) Public Relations Officer, Ms. ‘Mats’epo Mohau in an interview on Sunday.
She indicated that Ms. Moipone Shale, who is also the LNA President is also representing the country at this event.
She highlighted that the workshop is aimed at equipping the participants with skills that will assist to empower women in sport.
She indicated that the intention is to ensure that the sport becomes professional throughout Africa so that during competitions players are at the same level.
Ms. Mohau noted that in completion of the workshop, the attendees are expected to sensitise their counterparts as well as empowering them in all their sport structures.
She said this happens at the opportune time for LNA as they are currently searching for talent as well as training them so that they can be able to compete with the international community.
She pointed out that the workshop will be attended by women in sport leadership as a result they have been exchanging ideas in order to learn from each other’s experiences.
Ms. Mohau further indicated that in acquiring more skills as she interact with her counterparts, the LNA President will also attend an Annual General Meeting (AGM) for African Netball in Uganda later this month.
The Women in Sports workshop is fully funded by African Union.
