Nurse on trial for rape charge

The Maseru Magistrate Court has identified June 06 to 08 this year as hearing days for a case in which a 24 year- old Joseph Tlali Kolobe of Ha-Thetsane is charged with sexual offence.
He is charged with contravening the provisions of Section 3 (1) and (2) read with 32 of Sexual Offences Act No.3 of 2003.
According to the charge, Kolobe in his capacity as a registered Nurse performed an unlawful act of sexually molesting a 31 year- old woman who was pregnant at the time during an incident that happened at Mabote Filter Clinic on September 29, 2016.
Kolobe is currently out on bail he was granted after the complainant who has since given birth was consulted by the prosecution to determine whether she would have any objection with Kolobe being granted bail.
The bail was granted on conditions that he pays a deposit of M500, he attends remands on set dates, does not interfere with crown witnesses and stand his trial to finality.
The case is before Magistrate ‘Mamosebatho Kantoro.
