The coalition of seven political parties is led by Democratic Congress (DC), Prime Minister Mosisili’s party, and LCD led by deputy prime minister Mothetjoa Metsing, Popular Front for Democracy (PFD) led by Lekhetho Rakuoane, Basotho Congress Party (BCP) let by Advocate Thulo Mahlakeng, National Independent Party (NIP) let by Mr Kimetso Mathaba, Marematlou Freedom Party (MFP) led by Vincent Malebo and Lesotho Peoples Congress (LPC) led by Molahlehi Letlotlo.

During the launch of MEC on Wednesday before he was fired, Mochoboroane had told reporters that although he would go to parliament as a cross bencher when it opens on February 24, he would not support a vote of no confidence anticipated by opposition against Prime Minister Mosisli, whom they accuse of lacking majority numbers in parliament and therefore has lost legitimacy for a democratic prime minister.

It is not known if his dismissal from government would make him change his mind.
